Yes, there is a purpose to life. From my perspective as a Christian I believe we are created by God to know love and serve Him on earth so that we can be with him for eternity in heaven. I don't think animals have the same purpose as people but do serve a purpose otherwise God would not have created them. They are part of the circle of life.

First, let me clarify that, unfortunately, I haven't found your cat. However, I think that I can give you already some piece of relevant information: from my experience in the field, I don't think it is currently possible to transport the cat in a quantum superposition for too long, and therefore, by now decoherence must have taken action* and he/she must be either dead OR alive, but certainly not dead AND alive... :-( || :-)

Now to clarify still further, I am not saying that the universe is a zero-sum game (although it may be). I am offering the proposition that the universe is a zero sum game, and asking all comers to adopt the opposing position in spirited debate. However, as a vital rule for my involvement, I think we must either agree to standard ground rules of scientific philosophy, for example the idea that theories can never become facts or be treated as such or, if we wish to depart from conventional philosophy, we need preface such departure with either a suitable argument justifying the departure OR our departure must be so breathtakingly brilliant that it may be deemed excusable and excused in light of our mutual recognition of the brilliance.

That being said, and I hope you'll agree to its fairness and reasonability, I do currently mildly favor the idea that the universe is zero sum. My position is based in the following model and its math, that the universe is either infinite in size or closed in a way that effectively prevents exchange of stuff with or manipulation by any 'other' universe or dimension or whatever the hell else might be out there. By this model, mass and energy are just flying back and forth in big bangs and big crunches forever and ever, and there is no obvious mechanism for non-zeroness. Thus I see the challenge to all comers as one that can demands escape from the hard constraints of such a model. My earlier text was simply asking that your argument conform to the etiquette of letting theories be theories, a request that I imagine you'll grant.

I don't think there is one. I think we live and die and then after that, who knows? No one, that is who. Why? Because if you die, you don't live...you are dead. You're wrong, if a child is born deaf dumb and blind (many children are born this way Congenital Deaf blindness) what language does it reason in? all it knows is itself and that everyone around is identical. Freud's views of personality remain controversial and Id is just hocus pocus, every creature gets hungry and thirsty and needs to defecate thats not an Id it's instinct. My colleagues David, Jane and Louise are eminent psychiatrist and will always tell anyone 'that in their opinion' and never that this is a fact. It's irrelevant whether you call it the Id, Jungian Shadow, or the Ugly Ego as I call it. It is just the name of the basic mental programming we're born with and which shows up in behavior of every child on earth, all around the globe. Freuds oral, anal, genital stages of development have their insight into human nature. We're much more than that or rather we have much more complicated innate mental software than wants or basic instincts. Kids learn to share around the world. Kids learn not to busybody.
