Well for starters, I get overwhelmed with like every little thing. But one thing that really freaks me out is my grades. I get good grades, I get a 4.0 GPA but in order to do that I cry in bed and stress myself out. I overwork myself and I get a lot of headaches and all that crap. Fun.

I felt that! And for me, when I'm around people more often I get more stressed out. As a band kid and theater kid, I'm around people a lot more.

Awesome, that is exactly what you need to do to stay on the path to professional success. Hang in there, kid. Not too long until you can turn all that experienced stress and anxiety into a great job and a great means of living a productive life. PS - I am serious, keep it up!

Well, that's a great goal to have...achieve it and you won't face regret. Having regret is the worst. And unfortunately, I have quite a few of them. Giving in to the pressures of life/school/work only results in regret. Working hard and not giving up will leave you feeling good about yourself, your decisions, your actions, for the rest of your life!

I do have many regrets in my life, but I don't think my career choice will be one of them.

That's not good, but then the end part is good, so that's a break-even.

When life gives you too many limes, make mojitos.

I prefer vodka tonics with lime or margaritas, mojitos are too sweet for me but I like where you're going with that!

Yes, vodka tonic is my cocktail of choice...I prefer beer, but when I cannot get decent beer, I'll have a Tito's and tonic and Tito's and soda water, both with a lime twist.

It's a great cocktail, super easy to make which is nice. Ever had an original daquiri? I'm not talking about the syrupy frozen slush that comes out of the icee machine, it's really just three ingredients and very tasty. Fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, and rum, serve it over ice. It was one of Ernest Hemingway's favorites.

For beer, I'm a self proclaimed beer snob, lol! I can spend 20 minutes on the beer aisle at the grocery store and not buy anything, just look around. It's like trying to pick out a candy bar, they're all good in their own ways, but the question is which one are you in the mood for?
1 up, 4y,

An original daquiri? No, I have not. I did not even know what it was until you defined it for me. I was expecting there to be strawberries in it, ahahahaha.

I am also a beer snob. Beer snobbery to the Nth degree here. Last night, I had a four-pack of Untitled Art's Strawberry and Banana smoothie (smoothie IPA). It was so frickin' delicious!!!! I also can spend hours looking at beer. Stores like Total Wine are dangerous to my health and bank account. What is your favorite beer? Not by style...you have to pick one. I have to go with Bourbon County Brand Stout. It's just the best of its style and the style is one of my favorites. It's a perfect bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout. It's THE benchmark, and always will be.

If you like the strawberry/banana type stuff you should try Wells Banana Bread Beer, tastes just like it sounds and it's delicious. Funny I just saw that Goose Island at the store the other day and thought about picking one up, guess I'll have to now! I can't compare it since I haven't tried it, but my favorite is also a bourbon barrel aged ale, Founders - Backwoods Bastard. They only release it once a year in the fall, but I swear you don't know if you're drinking a beer or a bourbon, it's so frickin' delicious. It hits hard though, I don't drink more than one at a time. I highly recommend it. I also was just gifted a similar one made in the same style but haven't tried it yet, by Founders as well but it's aged in 3rd generation bourbon barrels, used once for bourbon originally, used again to age maple syrup, and the third to age this beer. I'm pretty excited to try it, just waiting for a good time to sit down and enjoy it.

And, since you asked the impossible question and said pick one...
Favorite IPA - Sweetwater IPA (Columbus hops used in it, smells like a bouquet of roses!)
Favorite Stout - Left Hand Milk Stout (Nitro, like drinking chocolate milk, it's awesome)
Favorite Porter - Breckenridge Vanilla Porter
Favorite Pale - RJ Rockers American Pale
Favorite Amber - Shiner Bock
Favorite Hefe - Widmer Hefeweisen (a little dryer than most)
Favorite Session - Red Stripe
Favorite Sour - Anderson Valley Blood Orange Gose
Favorite Red - Kilkenny Irish Red

Honorable mentions: Space Dust IPA, Sweetwater 420, any legit German Marzen, Thomas Creek Red, Magic Hat #9, Green Man IPA, Lagunitas Lil Sumpin', Rogue Dead Guy...eh I'm just going to stop, I'll be here all day if I don't, lol :)

It sounds like you were gifted a bottle of Canadian Breakfast Stout, a Founders limited release beer. It's very very good, but not as good as BCBS. I doubt you are seeing BCBS on a store shelf. It sells out within minutes of being open fr sale and there is usually a one or two bottle limit. Goose Island makes a lot of other stuff, but in my opinion, it is total garbage. I like Left Hand's milk stout. BCBS is usually around 14% ABV. Canadian Breakfast Stout is right up there, too. There are a million bourbon barrel-aged beers out there now. Everyone trying to capture a piece of the market that BCBS created, dominated, and still dominates to this day. If you can get Toppling Goliath beer, you should be drinking that ASAP. They are one of the best in the country. They're in Iowa and it sounds like you might be in Colorado. They don;t distributre there, as far as I know.

Nope, that's it. You had my interest peaked and then after reading into it found out how rare it is, so I actually just drove over to the store I saw it at and they still had a whole shelf of it, so I bought some. It was at a Publix of all places, so probably why it's still there, most people that would rush for it probably go pick it up at a Total Wine or similar store. $11/bottle sound right? Way more than I usually pay, but went for it on your recommendation. Haven't seen Toppling Goliath, I'll keep an eye out. I'm in upstate SC for reference on what might be considered local.

Nice, sharing big beers like that is a good idea.

A tiramisu beer sounds really good to me. Lately, I've been going after milkshake/fruitshake IPAs and other fruity sours/goses/etc. I drink way too much beer, especially as of late. I need to somehow cut back and/or stop drinking for a while. It's really hard, as the addiction is strong in me. I wish I could drink in moderation...

BCBS is heavy. Some might say on the sweater side, but it has so much going on that it doesn't matter. Drinking one bottle may take you 1 to 2 hours...lots of alcohol in there. Let me know what you think.

I have brewed. Probably a total of 20 times. I haven't done so in years and I don't plan to. It's too much work. Cleaning and sanitizing sucks. I have a buddy who does it and takes it very seriously. He is essentially a scientist. His brews are awesome.
1 up, 4y
Well I can't sit here and say I like the Founders and also say that I don't like any beer that is heavy and/or sweet, so I'm definitely up for it. You can tell it's a sipper just by looking at the bottle, and the near 15% ABV. Honestly stuff like that I like to share with a fellow aficionado to compare notes so I'd probably split a bottle for a session.

I've brewed about 5-6 times, and agree with you on the work as it's a lot but the reward is pretty awesome. I have aspirations to try and make a "tiramisu" beer...cream ale as a base and brewed with lactose/oatmeal for a creamy mouthfeel and flavor, and either add coffee or maybe throw some grounds plus cocoa nibs and vanilla in during secondary ferm. A lady I work with made a chili porter once that was phenomenal.

WOWOWOWOWOW, you hit the jackpot dude. There are some hole-in-the-wall places I've heard of that get some and nobody that goes there knows what it is and no one that goes there is interested in the beer style. Get ready to drink a very viscous beer. So strong on the bourbon, toffee, raisins, chocolate flavors....so f-ing good!!!! It gets better with age, so nothing to worry about there. $11 a bottle is a good deal. Most places sell them for $15.

SC, hey? Gotcha. Don't know much about that beer scene.

I'm in WI....so yeah, I am required to like beer/alcohol...lol...and cheese.
0 ups, 4y
WI? Yeah that's beer country for sure! Lol. After reading the reviews I'm really looking forward to it. My only concern is that high gravity beers (to me) tend to be on the sweet and very heavy side, which is a turn off in most cases but that's just my taste and preference. All the flavor notes I've read about (including yours) hit all the ones I like though so I don't think I'll have any problems with it! Don't know if I'll get to try it tonight but I'll get to it soon enough.

SC like many places these days has a pretty decent microbrewery presence. In my list above, Thomas Creek and RJ Rockers are both local to me, and Green Man is in Asheville so not far. Other ones you may have heard of are Westbrook (Charleston, SC) and I know you know Sierra Nevada, they just set up shop in Hendersonville which is right across the state line from where I am. They are of course not local, but still. We also have River Rat Brewery and Palmetto Brewery which are both in Columbia and they have a pretty nice selection. Tons of other little ones around.

You ever dabble in brewing? I've made a few, not recently but it's an awesome hobby.

Totally, same here. Like last night for example...I had to brush my teeth, but I had all these limes in my hands and on my arms. So, I had to have my next door neighbor come over to hold the limes while I brushed my teeth.

Hands down, best comment I've had thrown at me in a while! That's awesome. Glad your neighbor was able to help you out, I mean what if you didn't have someone there while you brushed your teeth? You'd probably have gingivitis by now...man, gotta count those blessings.
1 up, 4y
LOL, thanks! I thought it was pretty clever, lol. I cannot have gingivitis growing in my mouth, so my neighbor will have to stop by around bedtime and also when I wake up in the morning. Luckily, he and his wife are retired and have plenty of time, and lime, on their hands.

I do love Christopher Nolan, but my favorite is Peter Jackson. I also like Jon Favreau, purely out of my love for Captain America: The Winter Soldier and he also acted in the movie as well which would be something I'd love to do as well.

Also kidding. Good luck with that goal. It is definitely a lofty one. I'm a pretty huge movie buff. My personal collection is pretty impressive. Who is your favorite director? Christopher Nolan is mine. I also love Denis Villeneuve and Wes Anderson.
