Want to know what I am scared of? Not getting the disease, but spreading it. This is to keep the people who need to stay safe STAY SAFE. I am young, so I will probably be asymptomatic, and yet I support the quarantine because I do not want to spread the disease to people who will be affected by the disease.

If the media hyped up the flu like the Coronavirus we would never leave our houses. You have always been able to infect high risk people with other diseases. That is just a fact of life. However we have never quarantined for it. 

Quarantine means keeping the sick away from the healthy. You don’t quarantine healthy people. 

If people are scared of the virus then they should stay home and wear a mask and wash their hands a billion times a day or do whatever they feel like. I don’t care. But for most of the population we don’t have to.

But this virus is assuredly not the flu, for it has a much higher death rate and infection rate. And you are right, that if the media hyped the flu up this much then we would never leave our houses. You are absolutely right. But you cannot gamble with human lives. This quarantine needs to be in effect and slowly eased to help stop the spread while allowing people as much "normal" as possible.

Speaking of gambling with human lives, let’s say you were in a casino. And you found a game where the chance of winning was about 73%. Would you bet a ton of money on it? I definitely would. 73% is the worst survival rating though.

For most people the chance of death is less than 1%. Which means you have a 99% of winning big in the casino.

The whole point of quarantine was to flatten the curve so health care wasn’t overwhelmed and everyone could receive treatment. Not as hide until nobody dies or gets sick ever again. There is no “New Normal” and there never will be. Living life exposes you to many dangers that no matter how old you are chances of death are high.

You are right the Coronavirus is not the flu it’s symptoms are worse. It’s more like Pneumonia. The flu is not the only infectious disease out there but again we never quarantined for them.

We've been lied to. Consider:

1) The shocking inflation of COVID-19 death numbers

2) States with longer lockdowns have had worse results

3) Outside nursing homes, the fatality rate never warranted a lockdown

4) Outside New York, this is comparable to a bad flu season

5) Excess deaths are from the fear of going to the ER, not the virus

6) Social distancing was invented by a high-school kid and politicians, not scientists
