There are still a lot of older people in my town that are wearing them, but I'm starting to see less of them, which is good. I live in a relatively small town with about 25-30 thousand people and it's a pretty big retirement population. That being said, we didn't shut down for too long and pretty much everything is open again. Yay for Texas!

You should trust medical experts. Just those with common sense and not knee jerk nonsense.

The key is using these to stay safe and prevent a zone starting to be a hot spot.

That time has long since passed... We don't do this with other flu strains that have shown equal or even more trouble in the past. It was a horrible, abnormal reaction and one we should never repeat again.

I do not agree, I suggest you get some information about this disease from other sources.

I could always get your information from biased and unreliable sources. I'm basing it on common sense, science, and the clear evidence we have. You need to get better information.

Evidence shows that barrier elements reduce the infectivity of viruses that are spread through the air. I advise you for example to listen to the coronavirus expert from South Korea: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAk7aX5hksU

You want to wear one, then wear one. You could have before the panic. Nothing was stopping you. I'm just happy we're seeing people exercising common sense, letting their immune systems work as God designed them and not fearmongering. If I go to a nursing home, I'll wear a mask certainly. But for day to day it's completely unnecessary. Same as the lockdown.

I think common sense is trying to not spread the virus everywhere. If you get the virus, you may survive, but you can infect an old person, someone with respiratory problems, someone in your family and who dies. Would you really carry your consciousness with deaths, for a simple piece of cloth? Common sense is to cover your face with something on the outside.

Common sense is using common sense... That is not panic like you're clearly proposing. The reality of COVID-19 is that it's not as big a deal as the hype would make it out to be. The science and data support this clearly. If a loved one got it, they would most likely get better as the VAST majority have. A loved one could get killed by a car. We should outlaw driving too by your logic. Would you risk it? Of course. We manage risk and behave rationally. Mask wearing is NOT rational except in hot spots and around the very susceptible. Period.

Been saying it for over two months and the reality is bearing that out.

I don't think I understand what you say there. If the virus is in the air, the logical thing is to wear masks to stop its spread. The mask, especially is to protect others, and the community in general from suffering the epidemic. You should not wait until there are many cases of coronavirus in your area, you have to take them before there are cases, so that they have a real effect preventing the virus from spreading from other areas. The virus can take 15 days to show symptoms, some people carry it without symptoms, in 15 days, a single infected person can infect an entire city and cause a chain reaction with thousands of deaths. What sense is there in allowing the possibility of this happening when there is hardly any sacrifice for everyone to wear face masks on the street.

You wear a mask every flu season? Bet not.

I think I understand you now.

So you recognise that mask prevent people for be infected.

But you think the disease is not enough dangerous for preventing it.

Which flu can do this to lungs?
