I will never understand the argument against Voter ID

Yeah, why NOT issue Voter ID to all citizens automatically like any other country does?
No application necessary. When you hit 18, BHAM! it arrives in the mail, DONE.

I'll never understand why you'd ever close down ID-issuing services right after passing voter ID laws.
