By the way, check out www.stopstaring.com They have loads of sexy but classy 1950's style women's outfits. Here are some memes I've made with them:

On the Imgflip front page it's very misleading where it says "You earn points when your submitted images or comments are upvoted."

That's true -- BUT -- if you look at All-Time Leaders, you'll see folks with DOZENS of featured memes, THOUSANDS of creations, and MILLIONS of points.

The reason is that you ALSO get points for POSTING COMMENTS, even if they are NOT upvoted. I don't recall the values, but the number of points for an "Add Meme" comment is MUCH higher than just a TEXT comment.

ON YOUR OWN memes, you get a few points for YOUR FIRST text comment. No points for subsequent text comments. I don't know if you get points EACH TIME for text comments on other folks' memes.

As mentioned, Add Meme comments get higher points. That's why you'll see some folks post Add Meme "comments" all over the place with one or two words, e.g., "Good one!" or "Ha!"

Related to that, a lot of folks, if someone upvotes one of THEIR memes, they will click on that user's name and go through that person's memes and upvote some (or even ALL) of THOSE.

And, yes, there ARE users who simply upvote loads of memes, knowing that SOME of the folks they do ONE upvote for will upvote a BUNCH of THEIR memes.

I've been doing some experimenting:

1) You RECEIVE 1 point for each UPVOTE YOU GIVE. (You can't upvote your own.)

2) You receive 2 points for each meme you GENERATE.

3) You can pick ANY template, put even just A SPACE in Top Text and GENERATE MEME. That will add 2 points.

4) THEN click <--change settings

5) Then RE-CLICK GENERATE MEME. That adds ANOTHER 2 points.

6) AGAIN click <--change settings, repeat.

7) Notice -- even if you didn't make any changes after clicking <--change settings it STILL added 2 points EACH time you clicked GENERATE MEME.

8) POINTS ADDED DON'T GET DELETED.

9) Adding multiple comments to YOUR OWN memes only adds ONE point for THE FIRST comment. It MIGHT add TWO points if that FIRST comment is a COMMENT MEME ("Add Meme"). (PLUS the 2 points for GENERATING a meme)

10) Adding a COMMENT MEME adds 4 points -- 2 points for GENERATING plus 2 points for COMMENTING.

11) You can only use Add Meme once per comment. If you click it again it says you will overwrite the one you just added.

12) You have to GENERATE a COMMENT MEME each time. You can use an UPLOAD IMAGE with the FULL TEXT, and then just type a SPACE in Top Text and then GENERATE MEME.

How do I do this? I thought you could only submit something once? Do I make it again?

You do need to make it again, but it's simpler, because you don't have to be as careful about colors, positioning, font size, etc.

1) Save the meme you already made.

2) Create new image

3) Upload your image

4) Put ALL the text in the Top box

5) Change the settings to:

- Font: Arial
- Not All Caps
- No font shadow
- Font shadow: 0
(When you uncheck [ ] Font Shadow it automatically changes Font Shadow to 1 pixel)
- Font size: 1 pixel (This makes it invisible.)

6) Generate

The Dark_humour stream doesn't mind reposts.

-------------
IF IT'S A NO-REPOST STREAM, you need to do these:

- Put the same text in the same boxes, i.e., put the top text in the Top box, bottom text in the Bottom box, etc.

- Position the boxes over the existing text, with THE BOX roughly the same size.

- THEN make the font changes

The reason is that when a Mod sees a "submitted" image, it shows WHERE the text ACTUALLY is. So if you put your duplicate text SOMEWHERE ELSE (e.g., 1 pixel black on a black part of the image), we can tell if the VISIBLE text was in the ORIGINAL image or was added by the person submitting the meme. (I moderate a stream called SICK_COVID.)
