I hope you're right about the three months and mild inconveniences. Segregation was immoral and dehumanizing, but rationalized as for the greater good. I don't want to be in that group even for lesser injustices.

But you're trying to isolate the rationalization from the value that was driving it. We rejected the rationale for Jim Crow because it was the act of segregation itself that was immoral. Why would you think we'd accept your equivalence without that root?
