Well, regardless, Rommel was one of Hitler's best generals. The only reason Hitler told him to commit suicide was due to Hitler's thought that he was in on Operation Valkyrie.

Not really. Rommel committed suicide, but he wasn't given much choice. He was fearful of it rebounding on his family.
