Were it not for the lung cancer caused by years of heavy smoking, she might have, but like many Americans she found herself in dire straits and ended up eating from the public larder out of necessity, life's work and principles be damned.
Didn't seem to have much of a problem stealing from "creators" and taking her share of that redistributed wealth, but that didn't stop her acolytes like Alan Greenspan and Ron Paul from making her a legend in death she never really was in life.
