In 1918 , the population of US was approximately one hundred million, we also were not globally connected. The Spanish flu lasted 3 years. The death count , when over , around seven hundred thousand. The biggest difference from that time period to today? There was NOT a political divide in 1918. Nobody denied they were in a pandemic, everyone excepted the guidelines of the medical professionals, working together to protect, to rid themselves of the virus. Unfortunately for all, this thought process doesn’t exist today. I don’t have a crystal ball, neither do any of you. Common sense dictates, in any crises , cooperation is the key in solving all problems. Will we cooperate? Doubtful. However, in uncertain times such as these, miracles can happen.
