There is, to an extent. Xi Jinping is not a good guy.
But we're still beholden to China in many ways, and no one has offered a great solution for putting an end to that. Trump's talked about it off and on and sometimes deploys harsh China language but inevitably pivots back to praising Xi.
Not sure what to do about that, but a firm and consistent policy would be a start.
