I read the article. It says nothing about evolution being "proved" wrong, it simply said there was more going on in relation to how it unfolds than we previously knew. It also said nothing about the study going to peer review, being published in a refereed scientific journal or having established protocols for additional testing that other scientists could use to conclude identical results.

No. That was just to point you to the study itself. If you read the study (or articles about it) you find that 90% of species living today do not have common ancestors. The rest are malidentified as separate species as many can interbreed and have fertile young.

None of that debunks the central concept of human evolution, which states humans and primates share a common ancestor in Australopithecus Afarensis [aka Lucy]. If you believe human evolution is a bogus theory then I would be interested to hear these researchers ideas about why we have vestigial organs such as tonsils and the appendix.

Johnson found the knee joint three kilometers away and 200 feet down. This is the only part of lucy that indicates it might be a human ancestor. Most of the scientific community are skeptical about whether lucy could truly walk upright. Even if the knee is a actually from lucy most scientists think it was used to climb trees. The feet you see in pictures doesn't actually exist. Without the knee lucy is a pretty standard ape.

I said "citation" - Give me a reference to an article or something published in a refereed journal. Just saying 'most scientists think..." is hearsay unless you can substantiate your source.

OP, don't lump progressives and evolution believers into the same group; they are not synonymous with one another and to say they are is deliberately misleading.

However, most evolutionists are either progressives, or they are left side of center on the political chart. There aren't a lot of Conservatives, percentage-wise, that believe in evolution and they certainly don't contradict themselves like the example in the meme.
