How does the demand for hospital activity lead hospitals to lay off workers?

Isn’t that the point? The demand has been greatly reduced in many areas because of a one-size-fits-all government edict to turn off the Hospital revenue streams.

If it’s politically motivated, then they might be doing it because they want socialized healthcare but can’t afford it with so many workers
