There will never be an effective vaccine against the virus because it mutates too fast. It's why the flu vaccine is 8% effective when they get the right strain and 0% effective when they get the wrong one (like the last 10 years). All RNA viruses are like that.

But then again, the MMR vaccine is highly effective.

See they lie to you and say things like "Measles has gone down 90% since vaccinations started". To get to the truth you have to find the number of vaccinated people that have got infected compared to those that did not. Once you find that info you'll see that most vaccines are not very effective at all.
