Not to mention the impacts of a minimum age for smoking, no more free sample packs of cigarrette given out in high school, and ever increasing prices?

I cannot even imagine the gymnastics necessary to make that non-connection.

It isn't rocket science. We quarantine not to protect you, but the people who might die after being infected by you - thereby costing someone else's life for your choice. We regulate where and when you smoke not to protect you, but to protect people who might die after breathing in your smoke - thereby costing someone else's life for your choice. The OP thinks there's a difference in how we approach these but there actually isn't.

Wrong, the OP never suggested there's a difference on how the two issues are treated, it suggested a difference in how people interpret and implement those edicts. The OP's target wasn't about smoking, it used smoking for a comparison, could've used obesity, alcohol or drug consumption...... Thanks for sharing your completely off target opinions though.

"People" do not interpret or apply edicts the same, it's obvious from walking on the street, going into businesses and on social media...... the meme is a satirical observation on how some apply Nazi-esque standards to one issue and apply more lenient standards to an even more serious issue. A shunning of science and facts, an irrational embrace of emotion...... Almost as funny as the serial shamers when they read a meme that touches a nerve.
