To be fair this is less the fault of Trump and more the fault of capitalism as a whole. Any system that falters after just a few weeks of inactivity and can't even provide for its unemployed working class in the interim is probably not as great as anyone thought it was.

Not to say that Trump has been any help, but this was going to be an issue even under a semi-competent administration.

It was your assertion that because the GOVERNMENT stopped the economy, we need to transition from a private enterprise paradigm to a socialist paradigm where the government steps in and runs businesses. You are the one responsible for explaining your assertion.

My assertion is simply this: OPEN THE COUNTRY. Then we don't need have the means of production in the hands of the government. Its common sense, businesses are closing BECAUSE PEOPLE CANNOT GO TO WORK and engage in free market enterprise because "people might get sick"...well if the Government took over production, PEOPLE WOULD STILL NEED TO WORK AT THE COMPANIES...you get that right? The government doesn't have magic robots to staff these enterprises. People would staff them. So if you need people in both paradigms, we don't need to leave capitalism for socialism.

Universal Basic Income is money paid in PERPETUITY...endless income without labor required to earn said income...that is not same thing as ONE TIME stimulus checks.
