per capita, chicago does not have the highest violent death rate and the amount of people dying from guns has been decreasing annually, but your analogy still sucks even if what you claimed here was true.

What I'm saying is that bad people will always get their hands on guns if they look hard enough. If we have the right to bear arms, bad people will think twice before shooting up their next victims. If we ban guns, we are taking away the second amendment.

the point of gun laws isnt to stop all crime, it's to prevent as many people as possible from acting. yes, criminals can get guns but not *every* criminal can get a gun. gun laws dissuade, it's not a magical solution to crime and does not claim to be

I understand where you're coming from and I do believe we shouldn't have a bunch of Americans carrying assault rifles into the streets. Though we should have the right to bear arms. Do you want to know how Hitler won the Nobel peace prize? He banned guns. That means when he sent out his secret police, no one could resist the takeover AND means he could perform mass genocide and get away with it.

You cherry-picked what I said. Most of the mass shootings that occur are because mentally imbalanced people get their hands on semi-automatic weapons. If you have a city of citizens with hand-held guns, mass shootings would be shut down quickly.

because then i would have misquoted you, but you pretty plainly said you didnt think assault weapons should be carried out on the streets. if you had said you thought *mentally ill* people shouldnt be allowed to have assault weapons on the street, then the conversation would be a little bit different, but no differentiation occurred in the quoted reply
