I can see that it might not make sense to people that need oppressive rules and restrictions and to feel like what they've sacrificed in the name of morality has been worthwhile.
If you've spent your life conforming, being judgemental and needlessly hating other people, of course witnessing other people expressing themselves, not conforming, respecting other people's choices and showing compassion is gonna make you angry, how dare they, right?
They must be wrong, must have an agenda; because if they're not wrong, then it might mean you are.
