Yeah, well in 1918, people's freedoms were eroded to the point that villagers held neighboring citizens at gunpoint, preventing them from entering their city/towns. So by your logic, our educational system is much better than it was 100yrs ago.

It happened all over the country.

People were banned from public gatherings, businesses were forced to close, the same shit as today.
No one is, "imprisoned" in their homes. People are free to travel wherever they choose and, "where" have they been held at gunpoint from any town today?
Where have they been imprisoned for driving to their summer homes?
Where have they been arrested for driving across state borders?

We're not shut down because we're communist or because the government is trying to take over. We're shut down because we're in the middle of a pandemic!

I know you've lived the majority of your life believing you were picking yourself up by your bootstraps. Face reality. You drive roads paid for by millions. You buy goods and services built on the other side of the globe. You live in a world with 7 billion people!

States are controlling this. Local government, by the people and as close to the people as America gets! This isn't a national government shutting things down and it's not a national government who will open things back up.

This is a pandemic that LOVES your rights! It wants ALL of us to go to church every Sunday! Are mistakes being made? Likely! Are some mistakes made by not closing things as much or as soon as they should? Likely too!

This problem has NOTHING to do with the government. The problem isn't human.

You want to bitch about what mankind has done, bitch about aviation being ruined since 9-11. Bitch about our rights being taken away from that whole mess. This is nothing compared to the mess we created over that.

No one is making the argument?

If you're walking down the street with rona, you are walking down the street with a deadly weapon and you are haphazardly hacking away at passersby, the family's of those passersby and people 10 times removed from them. Worse still, they are now believing people may be more contagious before they have symptoms. So, people walking down the street who don't know they have a deadly weapon, have even more of a deadly weapon than those who do know, who likely stay home.

There is nothing false about that. Thousands have died due to your false dilemma, in America alone.

You can't quarantine the sick when you don't know the sick from the healthy because you don't test!

You are refusing to believe reality. Even the sick are being refused tests.

3.5 million tests total when we need a million a week, is not testing.

1% of the population being tested, is NOT testing.

Estimates are somewhere between 1 million tests a week to 1 million tests a day, needed to accurately quarantine the sick.

I couldn't agree more. With proper testing we could quarantine the sick ONLY, letting everyone else out to do their jobs! With a President who did NOTHING the entire month of February and little since, we're still sorely lacking testing.

Funny it was in February Nancy Pelosi said it’s ok to come to Chinatown even when coronavirus was rampaging. NYC mayor Bill de Blasio allowed big groups of people to come together in his city and guess what now? NYC has some of the most cases in the US

Part of the problem with NY was the fact that NY waited too long to shut down. That was their problem.

Tell your liberty vs safety story to your nearest TSA agent when they ask you to take your shoes off on your next flight. Or, when you wheel grandma into the body scanner booth and help her stand so he can check out her sagging nibblies. All for what? Less than a tenth the number of deaths we've seen already from this virus.

I'd prefer to keep my shoes on and take my chances. 9-11 was a one off, perpetrated by ignorant people who got extremely lucky. It isn't even possible at that scale now, just through public eyes watching people and being vigilant. Do you honestly think TSA is for your safety? Do you honestly think all that money is for you? It's a non-threat.

Rona on the other hand, is something you can't see. You can't profile people who may have it.
