Hey there. Sorry I didn't see this till just now.
Definitely get in touch with your therapist to share your feelings with them. Sounds like you only see them every now and then. Maybe start seeing them more often. I know Covid-19 could make that difficult right now -- schedule an online video appointment if you can.
I used to have depression when I was younger. I don't think I even recognized it as such -- but it was just like a heavy feeling weighing on my chest constantly, from the moment I got up until the moment I went to bed. I guess I thought it was just normal to feel that way. It wasn't.
I don't know how old you are now, but looking back on it: for me, puberty and the hormones and changes it brought really played a factor in my depression. I remember being pretty carefree as a kid: but starting in about 7th grade, I started getting pretty socially anxious and self-conscious. Sounds like something like that may have happened to you around age 11 as well.
What helped pull me out was getting out of my shell and connecting with people. Friends, family, significant others: Whoever is in your life, reach out to them. At the end of the day, we're all human. We've all been through similar feelings that help us relate to each other, even if our situations aren't ever exactly the same.
Life sucks for young people these days. It really does. I'm 30 now. Fortunately, I can report things got better for me, and I think they do for most people in time. Life isn't easy for anyone, but like anything else, I think we get better at it the more practice we have.
Foster healthy habits, like eating healthy and exercising. Get out and enjoy the natural world. Take care of your body, and it will take care of your mind.
Thank you for reaching out for help. I don't know who you are, but I heard you.
