Right now models are predicting 60,000 deaths (the low end). That is down from 2 million, which went down to 200,000 then 100,000.
Flu deaths were estimated at 61,000 for 2017-2018.
This is also complicated by the fact that the number of deaths from Covid-19 is not confirmed, and multiple states are including deaths where the cause is undetermined. Dr. Brix stated "we have a very liberal standard for including deaths." This means we could be over attributing deaths to Covid-19 which in fact are not related to Covid-19.
