THANKS TO SHOWS LIKE BIZARRE FOODS I WAS READY | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
I was a picky eater growing up, but now as I approach retirement, I wish I had been more adventurous earlier. I started by going to buffets to try a little of this and a little of that. But in China the food is ordered for the group, not just one plate for you. Made trying new foods easier. Everyone is also very welcoming. Even the cops in the airport were nice. The little old lady at the restaurant we ate at when not taken out by our coworkers made sure we knew how to eat each dish even through we didn't speak Chinese and she didn't speak English.

ALSO HAD MORE RAW SEAFOOD THAN I EVER HAD BEFORE FUNNY THING IS SHRIMP IS A FAVORITE, BUT I'LL NEVER EAT IT RAW AGAIN! | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
The rest was awesome. The shrimp was more of a texture thing. Soft and mushy...blah!

The fact that the shrimp still has their eyes is very concerning-
And yeah, I am very picky about shrimp, too.

I ate whole stir fried shrimp while I was there too. Once you get over the eyes and rest still being there, they were the best shrimp I had in China.

How often do you get a chance to go to some place like China? I promised myself if they put it in front of my I would eat it. Mostly I'm glad I did. There were some misses, but still way better food than when I was in England last. The best meals there were Malaysian, Italian and Greek.

I don't travel that much since I have a fear of flying...

15 hours in a plane. Good news is work pays for business class. Better news, the new Dream liners are very comfortable.

Been back since December. I do have a ten year visa, but like my coworkers in England, I mostly answer their questions via email.

I can't describe it, other than it looks gritty, but is not. Kinda like people always said frog legs taste like chicken. Well it doesn't. It tastes like frog, mild with an unusual flavor that let's you know it's something other than chicken.

So... You're saying it tastes like frog, which tastes like chicken, but it does not taste like chicken?

Everyone says they taste like chicken, well I tried them and they don't. They eat like chicken. Just like eating chicken wings on the bone, but the taste is not chicken. I would eat it again, but don't fall for the chicken crap.
