When Yo-Kai is basically just Pokémon except it has demons.

The idea of Yo-kai came before Pokemon.

Not the game the concept. Yo-kai have been in Japanese culture as long as dragons in the Chinese. They've inspired countless shows, games, you name it something from there is inspired by it.
