Come to think of it, the Bible says that Noah put the animals onto the Ark like he was supposed to but it never said anything about keeping them alive.

Which without a rich vegetation ecosystem, they would have died off pretty quickly. And then you would only hear the sound of the rain.

So, I guess it all checks out, as long as God didn't actually intend for the animals to come out alive. Maybe it was just a giggle to have a boat of dead animals through the flood.
