Well, here's a sample: at some point in the next two hundred years, the United States will at some point face another public health emergency. So why don't we universalize medical service access now, take it out of our taxes, and then rich people will have already done their part when it happens?

Or how about we just deregulate the insurance industry while at the same time limit frivilous lawsuits that make medical care expensive to begin with? I mean, people act like doctors are infallible......doctors are rich only cause they are likely to get sued!

TORT reforms in states that implemented them have saved nickels and dimes on the scale of the industry. It does nothing.

The insurance model is inherently flawed. The question is what we'll do WHEN we get hit by another crisis, not if. It's not an insurance thing. At some point, you will get sick. At some point, you will die. And at some point, you were born - that's another medical expense you caused before you ever had a chance to get a job let alone shop for insurance. Get it through your head: insurance is not the answer.

Just make doctors free at the point of service. It really is cheaper than letting plagues spread as quickly as they want to.
