Guns are inanimate objects... That's like blaming cars for all crashes (crashes, by the way, result in far more fatalities).

True, by definition they are not living organisms, but they also aren't inanimate. They do require a host, similar to a car needing a driver or a gun needing someone to pull the trigger. But, viruses have some semblances of autonomy in some ways, exist in nature and can cause death without the active participation of a human, almost like they drive on autopilot and pull their own triggers. Viruses are just strange.

And that's the truth.
