Oh Vic, you old man!

How have you been? I'm not really active here anymore so I want to know what's the buzz
1 up, 4y
I'm doing quite well ,but for the past two week found myself rather occupied. It's not quite over yet, but found some time to contact a few people here.

There has recently been an Imgflip election; many of us were involved, and I was one of the supporters of puppy_lover04. I think it went on for about two weeks, maybe more, and the winner was announced.

Puppy_lover04 along with her VP: Captain_Scar, won the election, almost a landslide victory. :) They went up against a very popular memer, Kate_The_Grate (Olympian_Product her VP), and to be honest, I didn't think we would win. It was kids vs adults, and the latter was considered by many to be the nurturing mother of Imgflip as she had done wonderful work in mentoring and helping young memers.

But to my great surprise, puppy and Scar won by 12 votes while the rest hovered by 1's and 2's. I'm very proud to have done my part in their victory as they proved upright in character. :)

I'm glad you're recovering well. I also sorry you no longer wanted to read scripture; I've had a feeling that something happened which caused you to stop, I hope that it's not caused by those on my side.

To answer your question, He did not (I'll include bible verses if ever you want to read them).

In the Bible, He had made all things good from the creation of the universe to the forming of man.

Homosexuality and Atheism is the product of Adam's sin; as when he has sinned, sin affected all after him (Romans 5:12-16). We are affected in nature. God gave man,. moral conscience (Genesis 1:26 & Romans 2:14-16), but when sin came, we've become rebellious in nature.

We still have our conscience, but we're also ruled generally by our desires which includes pride, lust, wanting our own way. etc (Romans 1:20-26 & 1 John 2:16), .

The LGBTQ are desires that many of us aren't really born with. A lot has to do with our self identity, growing up. At ages 11-13, we're at a stage where we begin to wonder who we are. At that age also, we begin to wonder, and to question.

I've watched and read of a number of testimonies as to why one became gay, another became bi, or another, pansexual. The most compelling are ones who realized something about themselves.... that they're different from everyone else. When they begin to explore, they realized they're attracted to the same sex. However, that's not typical.

There are others who became who they are because

1. They did not have a father/molther-figure
2. They were violated when they were younger

As it stands, according to the Daily Beast, 1-10 Americans are LGBT but that is not proven as it is difficult to truly determine. It may be that number, or more, but when i look at how many Pronouns we must be aware of now... it can be proof that the LGBTQ is a lot larger, or,,... we're ,mstaking feelings as facts.
[deleted]
2 ups, 4y
I still want to read the bible...I want to finish what I started, though now I am really unmotivated to do so...but, with enough determination, I'm sure I'll be able to finish it.

And, I see. But, since we're all fundamentally human, wouldn't God still love all of us?
1 up, 4y
It is to a much lesser extennt, Atheism. Atheism comes when we question things that doesn't make sense to us; or what we find disagreeable. We're not born as Atheists, but in our sinful nature we truly do not want God in all He is.

Our aversion to God is the reason why we can't see the eviddence of Him all around us. Cognitive Dissonance. We thus blind ourselves to God, or, make God according to our taste, and Atheism is a product, of.

I'll be honest with you. God hates sinners because of their continued committing of sins (Psalms 5:4-5), because God in His nature is good (Psalms 136:1). And so, anything that is not good, He therefore hates.

Due to that, any evil He must punish (Exodus 34:6-7)

At the same time, as a good God He also loves us and the evidence for that is what we call "Common Grace" as the bible says, the father has the sun to rise, and send rain on the evil and the good (Matthew 5:45).

And the ultimate proof of that is that sent His son down to live and die for anyone who would come to Him (John 3:16).

>>>

I'm sorry, I've confused your loss of motivation for a decsion to no longer wanting to read teh Bible.
[deleted]
2 ups, 4y
But sins are so...vague. I mean, its so easy to sin, you can do it on accident. Does that mean God hates all sinners, even the ones who do it on accident?

So God hates sinners...but if we confess our sins he forgives them?
[deleted]
1 up, 4y
It's because God loved us greatly... We were His creations and yet we still sinned. But, even through all of that, He didn't give up on us, and instead gave us a way to redeem ourselves...

In general, why God doesn't answer prayers is because:

1. Doesn't accord with God's will
2. We're not ready for
3. Not good for us
4. Has something better for us
5. Or our chronic unrepented sin(s) caused God to close His ears (Habakkuk 1:13 & James 4:1-6)

The blessings of unanswered prayers is mainly to do with numbers 2-4.

One suffering from a mental issue is something that can't be helped. It is sin of course, if one personality offends or hurts anther, and one is never justified in committing it as to say "Well, I'm biologically predisposed to commit what I'm committing, therefore, I get to do it when ever I want", but at the same time, God knows it cant be helped.

Take a look at the following verse:

"14I will not punish your daughters when they play the w**re,
nor your brides when they commit adultery;
for the men themselves go aside with prostitutes
and sacrifice with cult prostitutes,
and a people without understanding shall come to ruin."
- Hosea 4:14

In Hosea's time, women do not have a lot of opportunities as women do today, but can still hold a job, but much closer to home (Proverbs 31:24); so when women loses their husbands in war, the only means they can survive is either to become servants, slaves, or become harlots.

In this case, women are denied love and affections. It's still a sin to commit adultery and harlotry, but the greater sin falls on the men who do them.

As for personalities, the sin is committed when one personality lashes out, but the greater sin commited is when one doesn't seek help for it.
[deleted]
2 ups, 4y
But will they both be punished for the sin?
[deleted]
2 ups, 4y
I see....

I think I have one more question.

Is it women's fault we live like this now? Like, not in the garden of Eden?
1 up, 4y
To be more accurate, one more considering women, Women are barring from any official authority over men. They're not allowed to be Presidents (Isaiah 3:12 ) and they cannot be Pastors.
1 up, 4y
One other commentary on the men of Hosea's day. they're supposed to lead by example. When they're not doing that... the greater sin is on them, and not the ones they're leading.

Yes, what is your question?
[deleted]
2 ups, 4y
Well, you know how some people have split personalities? What if one personality sins and one is free of sin? Does that mean only one personality will be punished? Or will both of them be becuase they share one soul?
1 up, 4y
On punishment, it is not often penal as more often than not, God punishes by simply allowing consequence to happen (Romans 1:18-19, 24, 26-27).

So, with that in mind, the sufferer of a mental illness they're punishment would simply manifest itsselff through the reaction of their victims. That is in general. If however, the suffer doesnt't seek help despite constant pleas, then the punishment will likely be penal.
1 up, 4y,
1 reply
With regard to women, is it their fault we're suffering now, I'll say no. Not exclusively; both sexes committed sins that contributed to the "Hell on Earth" we live in today.

If you're talking about Eve, it is the same answer. She should be faulted for her part in the contining state of things because she listened to the Serpent. She was the one who sinned first which God therefore punished her by painful child-bearing and making her subservient to her husband (Genesis 3:1-6, 16). This extends to the church as she is not allowed to speak in miracouls tongues and lead a church (1 Corinthians 14:27-35 & 1 Timothy 2:12-14).

With that said, the greater sin falls to Adam because he was the one who persnally heard form Ood, and then Eve was made (Genesis 2). Thus, between the two, Adam shoud know better not to break God;s commandment but he did. He listened to Hs wife without question... then he ate the forbidden fruit.

Adam was thus punished by having him work much harder than before as God cursed the ground because of Him, and in the wider application with regard to his responsibilities (Genesis 3:17-19).

In a traditional family arraingement, the man's responsibility is outside while the woman's, inside. In view of that, you can say that our sufferings outside the home is because of him. But he is also shares responsibility at home as he is supposed to lead his family (Deuteronomy 6:6-9). So, you can say that he is also to blame inside the home. And when his children does wickedy but in ignorance... he is to blame.

In general, one of the most important ways to honor one's parent is to obey that parent, but in such a case as this being phyisically, psychologically, and emotionally abused, if the child is reaching out for help, s/he is not bound by that commandment.

S/he is free because a parent should not mistreat their children.

Yes, ask it.

2 ups, 4y
So, I read a book about a boy being abused heavily by his parents, but he didnt tell anyone becuase the 10 commandments state that you need to respect your father and your mother, and he thought if he told someone about the abuse, it would count as disrespect.

So, would it be like how you said, there would be some leeway with forgiveness becuase he had to tell someone he was being abused? Or something else?

I think I see what you mean, in a sense that it is too easy to sin. But, God knows us which is why He is gracious. The word grace in scripture means Undeserved Kindness.

As sinners we don't deserve to be heard, but is gracious to those who are humble and those who wants to draw near to Him (James 4:6 & 8).
