The death rate is at an average of 3.4 percent with it getting as high as 6 percent in Italy. You can also carry the disease for up to three weeks and not have any symptoms. I do think it’s a bit overblown, but hospital beds in the highest contagion zones are way over capacity with not enough ventilators to go around. I accept I’m not a medical expert and just let them do what they have to do.

I have already kind of asked this question a while ago but I'll still answer this. The death rate is really low, but people do still need to be hospitalized. People are definitely overreacting when stocking up and all that.

I had no idea that it had a low death rate.

Anyone can get it, but the elderly and people with bad immune systems are most at risk for dying.

Yeah if only the elderly could get it, it would be so different. (Because I don't think even grandma Karens are going to buy all the toilet paper lol)

The measures are not in line with the virus effect. The virus is actually very very weak. The fact that it's new and that all patients to whom the worst-case-scenarios apply all come in once requiring more intensive care beds when most countries have, is the only real issue here. So the measure must force the virus to smear its effect out over more time, so people will not fall ill all in once, but in small amounts. The upcoming years the virus will also be there, but it's then unlikely all worst-case-patients will be there in once.

The measures are not effective at all, since they were taken months too late. And the side-effects are downright too horrible. I won't even start to summarize them simply because these comment box character limits won't let me. So yeah, these measures are by far more harmful than the virus itself ever was.

Unlike like other countries, I heard that Germany and The Netherlands (were you live) don't have a lot of people infected. You guys are lucky (it's a compliment).

Actually the Netherlands is just under a kind of quarantine like the rest of the world, and here too I can see the effects of that quarantine outrank the dangers of the virus. I don't dare to leave my house anymore, and that's not out of fear for the virus itself, I tell ya.

Oh, then I might of accidently got mixed up on Deutsch and Dutch somehow, it's been a while now.

Haha... I don't know about quarantine measures in Germany, but I guess it's all the same there...
