Now, you might think this guy is a piece of shit, and that's fair. Especially if you were affected by his actions directly. However, despite my strong stance against socialism (but not social programs) I find it hilarious that I'm one of the few people in my own small social circle who doesn't completely hate this guy's guts. He is a capitalist. In a capitalist country. It makes sense to capitalize on this.
Plus, and here is the thing that really gets me. You mean to tell me it's completely legal for corporations to make money off of people during a crisis but it's not legal for independent or small businesses to do so?
And bare in mind the charge of price gouging. The way I understand it, he has the foot the billing for shipping and storage, and is passing that pricing onto others and you still have to up the price a bit to make a profit.
Was he stupid and insensitive? ABSOLUTELY! But do I think he should be punished any further than donating his entire stock to charity? Absolutely not. I really do hope this guy pulls through and learns his lesson rather than the government make an example out of him.
