I don't like bailouts any more than you apparently do. I see no reason to bail out cruise lines. They employ few Americans, pay few US taxes and are "registered' in foreign countries. Let those foreign countries bail them out.
In a more general sense, this isn't an economic crisis lke it was in 2008. This isn't happening due to big business' inherent greed, or screwing of the average person, etc.
Before the virus, the economy *was* very healthy with no corporations asking for bailouts (unless you consider tax cuts to be bailouts, in which case, let 'er rip, tater chip) , so unless you're limiting your anti-bailout perspective to just those two industries, we could be in real problems once the virus has been defeated.
Wouldn't it be good for us little people to have an economy that can bounce back quickly, once this is over? Otherwise, we'll have a real financial crisis on our hands, not just a temporary one caused by the reaction to the virus.
