Good read. My takeaway, "If we had not known about a new virus out there...we might have casually noted that flu this season seems to be a bit worse than average. The media coverage would have been less than for an NBA game between the two most indifferent teams." I predict this is what hindsight will bear out.
Given the limited testing and the general statistical spread of population contamination, I would guess we are at the 100 to 1000-fold of infected compared to those tested. Everyone is so afraid of being wrong, we can't get a reasonable scientific analysis and recommendation. Instead, we have to go with worst case even though the cure is in spite of the illness.
But mass hysteria has taken hold, rational thinking is out the windows, just run with the mob and too bad for those that get trampled...I'm going camping in the mountains...hopefully the city hasn't burned down when I get back next week :D
