Dr wasn't wrong, he stated it was "anecdotal." Unfortunately the study was of only about 20 people. That simply is not enough for scientific muster.
The point is Chloroquine is one to be studied, along with other antivirals like lopinavir, arbidol, ritonavir, remdesivir, camostat mesylate, etc may either be effective or hold the key to stopping it and to herald Chloro is just another in a long string of oversimplifications Trump has made. If he was just talking at the bar it wouldn't matter, but from the position of president, what he says does matter, nuance matters, clarity matters.
