I'm in the same camp with the exception of the begging_for_upvotes stream. I mean it's fun to beg in there.

I used to but then people started threatening to commit suicide if they didn't get upvotes and honestly I don't wanna see that. I don't want them to do that but they shouldn't get upvotes because of that.

If somebody says they're suicidal I'm not about to judge whether or not it's a joke. Something is going on there in any case and it's just safe to be supportive. Shame on them if they're taking advantage but shame on me if somebody hurts themselves when I had some capacity to help. I guess what I'm saying is upvotes are so trivial when compared with mental health.

That's part of why I left. It was overrun with that kind of thing and I couldn't tell who was serious, and my one upvote isn't going to help like at all. It started to be not very fun. I preferred the creative ones not "I will commit suicide if I don't get upvotes"

I get what you're saying though. Nobody wants to see that. Usually I'll at least drop them the suicide prevention hotline 1-800-273-8255
