I heard it in HS over the PA system. Morning announcements. Some girl reading out birthday announcements. "Happy birthday to Mike Hunt..." *awkward pause* No one in school by that name. I lol'ed

He did,but his aunt called him mike.

I have a good friend named Dick Fry. He enjoys being kidded about it, though.

I think most of the ones you'll find online - like Al Coholic - aren't "unfortunate" at all but meant as a joke. Of course, things like this actually happen and especially when you're in a different culture and/or language and getting made fun of because your name sounds funny or dirty or whatever can be a big problem and pretty hurtful. Just ask any Asian person with a "Poo" in their name...

That's what I meant, as a joke not making fun.
