Is there such a thing as good luck or bad luck?

Interesting question, since one would have to ask the question about where these superstitions came from. Walking under a ladder is a no brainer as it can be a safety hazard. Spilling salt I believe is because salt back in the day was hard to get depending on where you came from. Pennies I would assume is because when they used to have buying power, you could find one and either spend it on some candy or save up to get something really nice. Even though pennies don’t have buying power anymore, I still save them in a coin jar and deposit them in my savings account when I fill it up. Black cats were associated with witches since the Middle Ages, so the stigma still lingers.

I'm not necessarily proud of it but yes I am a bit (a lot) superstitious. There is an episode of the National Geographic show Brain Games that explains it really well. I have been raised to think that it has to do with my spiritual beliefs (but I'm not too comfortable sharing those because I in the past have been bullied for them). Obviously there is no magical little man coming to pinch us if we aren't wearing green, but still, I believe there is good luck and bad luck.

Do you think upvoting brings bad luck, because you seem to avoid it like a black cat, lol i'm joking with you.

I love Brain Games. Fascinating show! I don't believe in luck, I believe in God, natural laws and human error as well as scientific explanations for everything in the physical world.

Oh yeah, I also tend to avoid that number though not as much as number four, and I also tend to choose things with the number 7 or 8, and the color red
