It's the ONLY cole slaw I'll eat. Unfortunately, the reason I like it so much is probably because of its sugar content, which I'm sure must be high, considering the amount of pain my cavities endure any time I eat it! lol
I see.... I've never been into raw vegetables...
Well since Sauerkraut is cabbage with some stuff that makes it sour to the taste... I'd rather go to what we call in the Dutch "hutspot". Patatos, big carrots and onions cooked together and mashed, this with either a fried sausage or meatball.
Apples? Hmmm... I do know stew with red cabbage and apples... In the Netherlands often served with what we call Haché (a kind of a fat sauce mixed with meat)... I do like that... I never tried apples in sauerkraut, though...
Schnitzel.... One of the most cliché things in German/Austrian restaurants, these days. Hahaha. Some people I know who were in Germany for a few weeks complained that all they had to eat there was Schnitzel.
It is true though that in both Dutch and German cuisine there are some dishes very similar. About some dishes (like kale with sausage for example) there is even a kind of "war" whether it be a Dutch dish or a German dish.
