I'm on my own, once more.
Trapped inside the body of a human.
Voices whispering inside of my mind.
She's been out there for me,
I know she has.
Two outcasts of society, shaking hands.
Sharing a laugh.
Now, their gone.
Gone forever or gone for a while.
I'll wait time and time and time again.
Patience wearing thin and fading.
Are you dead or are you alive?
Of what do I have left of a best friend?
Memories?
Jokes?
Shared smiles and smirks?
Through icy winds, I've walked.
Head hanging low, walking slow.
Earphones in ears, hiding tears.
Through all these years.
A change happens that I could never accept.
Why must my luck be nothing but mediocre?
Why me out of all the people in this hell-bent reality?
Just my luck, that's all I seem to say.
I'll wait and wait for you to return.
From time and time and time again.
I'll be waiting.
From time and time and time again.
Amidst the crowd of people,
Walking through the blur of color.
Dress aw in black and leather.
A rain cloud above my head.
Tears gently running down, while I stand in the shadows.
I wait with hope and patience.
Internally writhing in pain.
Waiting.
I'm not sane anymore.
Is it time to let it all go?
And walk, the walk of sorrow.
For tomorrow is just another day.
Another day in this meaningless reality.
For every tear I have shed.
For every friend, I have lost.
I hoped and hoped, I'd see
The light amidst the darkness.
Yet the light never came.
Now I'm on my own, in the shadows and the twisted thoughts inside my mind.
Long have I hoped for a friend.
A friend to stay by me.
Till the very end.
All I see now is colors turned to monochrome.
Long have I waited for the Pied Wagtail to fly by.
I'll be waiting.
Waiting to finally rest in peace.
