If I look like a “Leftist” it’s only because this entire site is skewed so far to the Right

Everything is relative but you are definitely left leaning. So calling you a leftist isn't wrong.
It's a shame calling someone a Rightist just doesn't sound correct at all otherwise you could repay in kind.
But back to the Tag, you dont like it because your not extreme left which is fair enough but unless someone adds far to leftist they are still correct unless your somehow a centrist?

Do you remember I had a meme a few months ago suggesting that we need to forget the prevalent paradigm in politics..? And align ourselves as pro freedom or anti freedom? And vote candidates along the same.
Well I think we are pretty well on the same page about the real aims of defining us left or right.
I will dig up that old meme. Funny thing was that with the exception of yourself I don't think anybody else commented on it. It was like it was too much truth or too hard to respond for people.

What sorts of activities are a proper role for government?

"Rightist" sounds off, but I'm comfortable calling a majority of the content of the politics stream "right-wing." I mean, it clearly is.

"Leftist" is intended as an insult but I don't really care. I just think it's funny as applied to me and indicative of the site's right-wing tendencies.

--I support basic things like taxation, welfare, environmental protections (including greenhouse gases), etc. I oppose racism, sexism, homophobia, and other bigotry at a basic level
--I don't support seizing the means of production, cancelling all student debt, or blaming straight white men for every problem in history
--I oppose Trump because he's a constitutional oath-breaking moron and myriad other reasons I'm not going into right now. I voted McCain in '08 and Johnson in '12 and '16. I've never voted for a Democrat to be president. But it's going to happen this time because Trump is an idiot who has turned the GOP into a hot mess and the Libertarian Party is going nowhere fast. Have these parties pushed me farther to the "Left"? Sure.

McCain and Romney: presidential nominees in '08 and '12, now both considered traitors. The GOP has changed fast.
