I'm not opposed to eliminating some business loopholes. If you think you can pay for socialism with business taxes, you're sadly mistaken. Businesses will leave if you threaten to tax them until they're unprofitable.

Amazon, in particular, paid $2.6 billion in corporate taxes in 2018. The taxes you're crying about are on their sales revenue, which is where the loopholes allowed them to keep the $129 million they would have paid without the loopholes.

So, Amazon didn't pay $0, they paid $2.6 billion - but that doesn't fit the narrative, so you choose to ignore it.

You'd demand $129 million, while losing $2.6 billion when they move their more profitable technology operations out of the country.

Sometimes you need to read past the headline - this article in particular has a very misleading headline. It says they paid $0 taxes for 2018 - then halfway through the article it says they paid $2.6 billion

i read past the headline for the national review article and it's basically defending a company worth 800 billion dollars not making a profit sometimes, so they average their income out so it lowers their taxes, and being able to spend enough money to get a refund from the tax code
it's ridiculous and in my opinion indefensible
