Uber has yet to make a profit. It’s rates undercut taxis, putting them out of business to gain market share. And Uber and Lyft are not a “ride-share” business, it’s actually a taxi business. It is obvious that the drivers are in it functioning as a taxi, and not taking somebody to work with them sharing the ride. They never had to get a taxi permit and go by taxi laws having a meter in the car. Everybody wants to take Uber and Lyft because it’s cheaper, which is exactly why they have not made a profit.
