If “chivalry is dead”: good

I think the concept of chivalry has always served to mask over attitudes of aggression toward other males and condescension toward women

This comes out of a period of Western history where gender roles were extremely rigid, might made right, and feudal lords and kings were empowered to essentially enslave everyone who was beneath them in wealth and social status

The Middle Ages sucked

The Enlightenment, the birth of the scientific method, the concept of natural rights, the eventual abolition of serfdom and slavery, and everything that came after that is where it’s at

These days, no one has to kill their way to the top, and the genitals you’re born with don’t determine your destiny in life or even your destiny in matters of sex

Right now is the best time in history to be alive: whether you’re a man, woman, or somewhere in between

I don't get the concept of "holding the door for women"... I just hold the door when I see someone close-by. I have never asked if they identify as a woman before doing it... It doesn't have anything to do with women or anyone not being able to open the door themselves either. Anyone who complains about that just wants to argue for arguments sake. It's just politeness and that has nothing to do with gender.

Yeah, tiny little acts of courtesy like that I extend to everyone

In theory

Although my wife would be the first to tell you I overlook them too often :D
