Yes it does, just ask any Christian or Jew especially a pastor/priest/rabbi. Jesus said your neighbor is anyone around you.

Such translations include Wyclif (both early and late), Tindale, Coverdale, Matthew, Whitchurch, Taverner, Becke, Geneva, Bishop, and Douay Rheims...in addition to King James.
Also, the gravitas of the Bible is not a veneer. Sacred Scripture is actually an important, weighty matter!
