The mere fact that you actually believe democrats are better at anything (other than orangemanbad) than republicans, is pretty laughable. If you believed the opposite, it would also be laughable.

I will say this about democrats; they don't lie to our faces about their outrageous spending. They just do it, then claim the rich aren't paying their fair share, and that's why we're going to collapse under our huge debt. Republicans lie to us about it, and try to make us all take a bite out of their $hit sandwich by telling us that they care about balancing the budget, when obviously they do not.

Clinton was last president to have a budget surplus.

Bush 2 took the surplus and left with a 1.2T deficit.

Obama took that 1.2T and just about halved it even while coming out of the worst economic conditions since the great depression.

Trump took that 600m deficit and has it back over 1T WHILE UNDER A DECENT ECONOMY.

Republicans only worry about deficits when there is a dem in the Whitehouse.

The always increase military spending.

As jaded as I am about the federal govt and the ridiculous concept of spending more money than we have, I would like to believe (naively, perhaps) that both parties would actually be pleased to have a budget surplus... after of course, they've spent as much money as they want on pork and political giveaways in an attempt to buy votes.

Entitlements are ss, medicare, medicaid, unemployment benefits, welfare are a few.

Republicans always want to cut entitlements.

They explode the deficits as a means to the end.

Just because there is wide agreement about what would be good for the economy, infrastructure for example, nothing gets done because the party not in the Whitehouse doesn't want to give the other party credit.

Historically democratic presidents have higher gdp, lower inflation, lower unemployment, lower deficits, and a vastly better stock market performance.

They are simply better stewards of the economy.
