Next empire will be based off a illusion of ethics, population control and spectrum techs. Will still be driven by power, social classes and paying free shit while having limited privacy in any shape at all. Even if you could fix everything today, it would be hugely lobbied against or killed lol too much danger in giving everyone power or usage of high techs.

your phone will be eventually be giving you speeding tickets and Google will get your ass put in jail. You'll still be paying for energy and Internet regardless of it could be created freely.

Already see the hand chips growing. Other gene tech improving over CrispR casp9 and that shits already a huge leap. Running around with the golden scissors while building d wave and other quantum computers. Synthetic blood with binary encoded proteins or cells for mad storage space.

I don't see a society not based on usery and classes popping up anytime if based off a human mind. Would a Ai consider good and evil being a human construct like old religions?

I agree that society’s based on class and the power of usery used to control will remain.. its a pretty good combo punch the power elites have over the lower 90% that’s worked well for them and is ingrained into human existence ( for the foreseeable future ).
And yes we are seeing more surveillance tech encroaching on our lives.. so conform everyone or lose your ‘Freedom’.

Ah yes ..the First Galactic Empire a veritable buffet of empires.

Coruscant Could be classed as a city state as it is one city to the whole planet & holds the seat of power.

And sectarian in his hunting of the Jedi.

The armed forces of the empire have all the trappings and imagery of fascism.

And capitalist in it’s exploitation of the outer rim planets species and resources & also it’s ability to create a mega sized military industrial complex to build planet killing super weapons of mass destruction.

Human equality is a great notion for the base of an empire.

I think you might be right on both counts.

Human rights seem to seriously lacking for the people that need them most even though we have had the concepts and laws for decades but they are easily eroded or ignored by people in political power.

I really like your idea of the internet being the next arena as an empire.
Peoples data selves are already in there & probably 80%+ of the world uses it .. so yeah good call.
Where you thinking of it as being place like ‘The Oasis’ in Ernest Cline's book Ready player one ( don’t know if you’ve read it,.. if you get chance I recommend it ).
Or maybe the f’d up data harvesting thing we already have going on now.
The thing that can always second guess us because it knows everything we have looked at and can offer us a thousand of that item and easy credit to pay for it & this leading us to becoming debs slaves to the system and their ultimate control.
