What happens when Presidents obstruct to the max, and fire all those who voluntarily testify? Unaccountability before the law.

What happens when Presidents obstruct to the max, and fire all those who voluntarily testify? Unaccountability before the law. | Whether these dismissals were technically “illegal” is up for debate. What’s clear is they were wrongful and constitute a threat to the notion that the President is above the law. For this administration, or the next. | image tagged in trump impeachment, impeach trump, witnesses, trump is an asshole, fired, presidency | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

They served at the pleasure of the president. He can fire them without a reason. Most of them were asked during the hearings and said so themselves.

It’s technically not illegal, I suppose, and it’s a certainty at this point that the President will face no consequences for this except possibly at the ballot box.

That doesn’t make it right.

Now it's 'technically not illegal'???

What doesn't make it right? They're serving at the pleasure of the president. Do you understand what that means?

There may be litigation over this — I don’t want to pre-judge the issue by making a certain call one way or the other.

However, I can already judge that it isn’t right.

And that this would be an open-and-shut case of retaliation if this happened in the private sphere.

Litigation huh? You guys just keep looking for new ways to lose.

It's his right. What retaliation? Would it be retaliation for a CEO to fire an employee who not only leaks information but does not agree or respect him and his decision? As a CEO you'd keep someone like that?? Would it be retaliation for a row boat captain to get rid off a rower who does what the other boat tells him to do and rows in the opposite direction? As a captain you'd keep someone like that?

If there is litigation, it is to further delay and obstruct, nothing else. In the end, sour face all around,...yet again.

Blowing the whistle, and testifying in connection with an investigation, are both protected activities. They did both.

That, plus the motive, timeline, and actual public statements by Trump on this subject is what would make this an open-and-shut case of retaliation in the real world.

But in the bizarro world Trump has created for himself in the White House, facilitated by the GOP Senate? Unclear.

They all testified that he can fire then at will. If you recall, they were all asked that question.

Have yourself a litigation, wtf do I care, it will crash and burn like everything else.
