So, EVEN AFTER YOU PAY ALL THOSE PREMIUMS, a checkup to the doctor is still like $50. It's called a "co-pay" because apparently you're splitting the cost with your insurance company.

It. Is. Total. Bullshit.

Ah, that's how our dental plans work, the more expensive the coverage, the less co pay

How many hours do you wait to see a doctor for a non-life-threatening issue?

2 weeks ago, I waited an hour , about 1 pm, our big snow storm that day, most were there for slip and falls. I was in there for spraigned neck, got to see the doc, x-rays, he gave me 3 painkillers and a perscription for 25 more and inside 2 hrs. No bill, no co pay, I did however have to pay $3 for parking.

Your news sources say differently:

https://bc.ctvnews.ca/b-c-emergency-wait-times-worse-than-most-in-canada-report-1.3701287

"Ninety per cent of B.C. ER visits were complete after 8.4 hours in the 2016-17 fiscal year, up from the national average of 7.8."

Yeah well, don't know what to tell ya, other than I moved here to BC in 2018. I've never spent that long in an ER. We also have nurse practitioners nor non emergency visits and walk in clinics for people with " the sniffles". In 2010 I had to wait 2 months for open heart surgery, that's only cuz my doc decided it was time to pull the trigger. It may not be a perfect system, but I didn't get no bill or co pay.

How many times do we have to tell you that those news stories are misleading by design?

Everything's Fake News until they're reporting on a point that *you* want to make, isn't it?

How did you manage that? The top tax rate per government websites is 33% for individuals making more than $210,371.

So again, we come back to this idea that you can't trust the media but only the media that YOU don't like.

I don't know much about Canadian media. Do I like them? Do I dislike them? Do I trust them to report on Canadian issues....well, I do trust them more than I trust American media to report on Canadian issues.
