Yeah, it's kinda like they tried to make it more like reddit.. with as little effort as possible lol. I realized a long time ago that whoever runs this site doesn't seem to actually want to put any effort into it themselves. It was bad enough when we had to struggle to get our content seen through all the alt accounts and reposters they refuse to moderate for some reason. Now they want us to make the content, sort it into streams, and moderate them ourselves. While still struggling with all the alt accounts and repposters lol.
Pretty good set up really, get other people to make stuff and compete over worthless upvotes, then sell ad space and make real money off of them. Why would you get rid of people with alt accounts when you get paid by the amount of hits a page gets from "different" users??
Of course that's me over thinking things and letting it ruin the fun I used to have doing it lol. I don't really do much but enter some photoshop contests now and then these days. At least I have a chance of winning real money with those I guess.
I do really miss the way things were back in the day. It's a rare thing to find any place where creative people are all working together towards the same goal. Especially when that goal is to simply create something you hope will spread a little joy in another's day...
