Um, the tax cuts went into effect for the 2017 tax year. I saw the cuts firsthand when I filed in April of 2018 and 2019. There are plenty of facts supporting that the tax cuts actually went into effect. My rate went from 25% to 22%. I paid significantly less in taxes.
Maybe you didn't see them because those making less than $20k didn't get a tax cut because of the social program benefits they receive.....a perk of not having a teenager job (because a job is not a job, it's a monetary reflection of your skill and capabilities). I'm no stranger to working two jobs. It encouraged me to develop skills that would allow me to get a better job, to improve my station. If you're not increasing your skill to improve your life - what the hell are you doing? Drugs?
My business has seen consistent growth, but that growth reached double digits in 2017 and has continued through 2019. My customers cite reduced regulations for their ability to participate more in the marketplace....and their industry is highly regulated (mine is not, but I feel their regulatory relief in my monthly invoices).
I wasn't broke or homeless under Obama, but I was homeless for a brief period of Bush Sr - which had nothing to do with him or the economy. I cancelled my health insurance because first the premiums doubled, then they tripled, then they quadrupled. Paying several thousand in IRS penalty was better than paying $24k in premiums, and another $24k to reach my deductible. It was going to cost a significant portion of my income to be insured before ANYTHING was covered by insurance.....even if my family never got sick.
I'm not the only person who knows this. Those of us who run businesses feel a great relief.
