I am 50 yrs old.... and so I am Generation X. I have kids that are 25yrs old. For me the metric imperial thing never mattered. I just learned both and calculated using both etc. I left the USA 15 years ago. Live in a Metric based country now. My guess is that you are around 20yrs old? Of course you used the word Retard, which is one of those words that I reallly, really, really want to use because it was normal speak in the 80's but very offensive to some people today. I use it in my head LOL.

No, Also GenX, 53, very well educated in medical and other scientific concerns. I have no problem using metric for science, but for daily life, Imperial units are just more convenient.
Additionally, I am very non-PC, so I have no qualms using "retard" when appropriate. I also still say "cool"

I seriously had no idea that Midget was offensive. Feels worse saying small person or dwarf or whatever. Another word I miss is "f*g" and "gay". For us in those days these words had nothing to do with sexuality although they were used as negatives but much like here in Australia... Where we often refer to friends as C**ts etc. Of course here in OZ we need some new swear words. The old ones just don't cut it anymore. I have not used any **** and yet there they are LOL. I am an American. I left Vegas about 15 years ago. Love Australia. In some ways it is a wild frontier but in other ways it is a very regulated and socialized country. I grew up hard Right...John Birch society, Republican, listened to Rush Limbaugh for years, read all the books... Now I have moved towards the middle. Moving to OZ has changed my perspective to such a degree I don't even know what to call it in terms of US politics. Different circus, different monkeys. Great place to visit or live though. Love the USA but in our case we needed the social safety net. Many health problems and at the time we could not get health insurance.. plus several shootings in Vegas including one at our kids school and so gun debate aside...we had to get our kids out of there or spend the day armed sitting next to them.
