Streets of Fire is the surreal movie blending together lots of opposites 1950s and 1980s pop culture, retro and modern style, comic books, Westerns, musicals and action movies, parody and homage, nerds and cocky soldiers. Whether it works or not is a bit of a contentious issue, but I thought it was great and I wanted to be McCoy (Amy Madigan) more than Ripley (Sigourney Weaver).

a good quality vcr player is key . my 20 year old sony works fine. I usually in jan and feb winter nights play 3 tapes a week to unwind . ollie hopnoodle , splash and the last detail so far this week. sadly so many of the re-released taps are edited and shorter in time and plot holes are obvious.
